Travertine vanity, villa bathroom

A floating double-basin vanity in walnut veneer with a single-slab travertine top, for a villa primary bathroom. Backlit mirror, hidden plumbing chase, marine-grade carcass spec'd for the bathroom's heavy steam load.

The brief

Primary bathroom in a Dubai villa, undergoing a full refurbishment. The previous vanity was a stock unit that didn't fit the wall span, gaps on both sides, the wrong basin spacing for the his-and-hers brief. Replace with a custom floating unit that spanned the full wall and felt like architecture, not furniture.

What we built

A 2.4m wall-hung vanity in walnut veneer with a single-slab travertine top. Two under-mount basins set to ergonomic spacing for two users, a shared central drawer bay between them, and side drawer banks. Backlit mirror at full vanity width with anti-fog film. Concealed plumbing chase behind a removable service panel.

Materials and finish

Walnut real-wood veneer fronts on a marine-grade moisture-resistant core. Travertine top single-slab with a 40mm front edge, sealed and impregnated to handle daily wet use. Brushed-brass tap fittings and concealed LED behind the mirror.
